Pilot Windstar: A Useful iOS App for Pilots
Pilot Windstar is an iOS app designed by pilots, for pilots. This app aims to help compute heading corrections and ground speed quickly and easily. It is specially designed to aid CPL and PPL training, navigation, and diversion techniques.
The app is simple to use, requiring the user to select the wind direction in degrees, windspeed, and TAS in kts, and the app does the rest. The groundspeed figures appear in green, and correction angle applied to heading to maintain track are shown in blue. These are displayed around the compass rose, and interpolation between the compass points gives data for all 360 degrees.
